The COVID-19 pandemic has been extremely hard on so many people, both here in our area and really in all corners of the globe. Our local businesses are suffering, a lot of people remain out of work and mask usage is not only encouraged, but mandated, in many areas throughout the United States.
But it’s not all bad news, at least for us at the Oldfather Group. The real estate market is booming and we’re also thrilled because the pandemic has actually led one of our all-time favorite employees back to us after two years away.
And with that lead-in, we wish to officially welcome back Stephanie Moyer to the Oldfather Group in her capacity as our brand new executive director.
Stephanie’s new role actually encompasses not only our real estate interests, but also our Motto Mortgage Prosperity and We Insure Prosperity holdings.
Stephanie returned to us in early August after previously serving as our client success team director from 2015 until late summer 2018. Having her back on the team has been exciting for several reasons, in large part because she was beloved by everyone in the office during her first stint with us.
“I had been out of work for almost three months due to the pandemic and Dustin offered me this opportunity that was really exciting and gave me a chance to come back to a team that I really loved, but in a new role,” says Moyer. “This opportunity is not only exciting for me, but it also provided me with a lot of stability during a time when so many things are unstable.”
We have so much more to tell you about Stephanie, or “Steph” as everyone around the office affectionately calls her. But first, please allow us to introduce you to our new executive director via the video below.
Born in the District of Columbia and living in several metropolitan areas before making her move to the “Nation’s Summer Capital” in 2012, Steph proudly owns her “beach girl” persona and loves everything that Delaware’s coastal region has to offer.
At any given time, you may see Steph and her 12-year-old shitzu Maggie strolling down Rehoboth Avenue on their way to the Boardwalk or to any of their favorite places in the resort, including Browseabout Books, Nicola Pizza, the new Ish Boutique or at any of the SoDel company’s chain of locally owned restaurants.
“We have so many great spots here at the beach,” says Steph, who also continues to make her home in Rehoboth. “I love the beach and I love all of the great boutiques and local restaurants that we have here. And I enjoy bike riding and spending time with my family and with Maggie, of course.”
At both locations, she’s involved in the day to day activities of keeping each business running as efficiently and smoothly as possible.
Her list of responsibilities is growing every day and are as varied as they come. But when asked about the best part of her new job, her answer is about what we’ve come to expect over the years and always puts a smile on our faces.
“If I’m being honest, the high point of every day for me is being back with the team. I have so many friends here, people who I think so highly of and who I just love working with,” she says. “The company has also grown a lot in the last couple of years, though, so I’m also meeting new people and learning what they’re doing and how they contribute to the company.
“But I’m definitely happy to be back on the Oldfather Group team.”
We ask all of our valued clients, friends and business associates to please help us welcome Executive Director Stephanie Moyer back to the Oldfather Group. We’re beyond excited to have her back so we can witness first hand how she’s going to help lead us and our collection of locally owned companies now and in the future.
